How do I send a file?
Stay on this page. Copy the link (or scan the QR) on the other phone or computer and open it. When both pages say they are linked, pick files here. They tap Accept, then Save. Keep both pages open until it says Sent / Received.
How secure is it?
The file is locked on your device with AES-256-GCM before it moves. The 256-bit key sits in the # of the link, which browsers do not send to pintnet. The relay only sees encrypted chunks, then forgets them. It is not a classified network: anyone with the full link can receive, we do not check who they are, and size/timing of the transfer is visible. Treat the link like the file itself. pintnet does not scan for malware.
Any size?
No. Cap is 1 GB for the whole send (up to 32 files). That is a pintnet limit. Your phone may run out of memory sooner: a few hundred MB is the safe range on mobile. Keep the tab in front; iOS often pauses a background tab and kills the transfer. There is no “download later”: if you close the page, it is gone.
Any format?
Yes. Bytes are bytes: photos, PDF, zip, video, Word, an .exe. We do not open or convert the file. You cannot pick a folder; open it and select the files. Empty files are allowed. The other device sees the name, size, and type and must Accept before anything is written.
Does pintnet keep the file?
No. Nothing is stored after the chunks pass through. There is no folder of other people’s files.
The other device cannot open the link.
